Default My impressions of the new Bowtechs

I finally was able to shoot some of the new bows at the local shop. The ones that I shot was the Pro40,and the MMite and the justice and Liberty and the new Pat. IMO the pro 40 was nice but I kept feeling the string buzz and felt to long for me. The Mighty Mite also felt the string buzz, and the Justice was smooth but hand shock Next was the Pat. this bow was smooth as butter and quick and man was it QUIET!!!. And the Liberty was just as the same as the Pat to a point. When I first looked at it it reminded me that I was shooting a "MATHEWS" sorry for the swear word. BUt it drew back very nice and it has a solid back wall. But overall the best bow was the Pat. It felt smooth all the way thru the draw cycle. I cannot believe how damn quiet this bow is just being a bare bow. the new hush kit is far and beyond better than last years. The camo looks far better in person than looking at it on paper. My biggest problem is deciding if I should keep my TB Blackknight since they disc. for this year. Or sell it. to get the PAT.

You do realize that you are in the "bowtech"nical forum, right? Any negative comments are not excepted in the "bowtech"nical forum.

Negative comments, if valid by a large majority of shooters should be considered constructive criticism. If negative comments are not shared by a large majority, it's then personal preference or bashing. In this case I don't read it as bashing by any means

I think Belle Island said that tongue in cheek. However, I do find it interesting that it has to be "large" majority in order to post a non-flattering comment.

So, do we post a poll first to determine if we are in the minority, majority or "large" majority with our viewpoint.

I like Bowtech bows, having bought way too many over the last 3 years. But, they are not perfect. Having said that, a negative comment would never be allowed on this BBS using your criteria; since this is BowtechBBS.com

In fact, you are correct because I (and most others) rarely post disparaging comments about Bowtech on this site, because we know that the same 4-5 posters will immediately imply that we are bashing if any critcal comment is made.

It is understandable that in a "technical" forum Bowtech would be a frequent topic, given their newness and development efforts. I have mostly Bowtechs, (one Parker 31) so I like the products and the company. Their changes might be a little too rapid, perhaps being introduced too soon - the "sand trap" technology they touted didn't last long, nor did previous years' mediocre performing vibration and sound dampening kits. It will be nice when things settle down a little so that people can have more confidence that an innovation really works well.

I for one do like to see real peoples view of bows and I know Kevin Strothers from BT visits this forum to get feed back from end users.
I am sure that he takes what the end user has to say whether it be good or bad to make improvements from year to year.

Now that is the one thing I really do like about Bowtech they listen to the end user

Camo I shot the s/c. Now I'm not "bashing" their product. Hewll I was interested in the line before anybody else in my area. Thats how my brother in law started his shop. I told him to check out bowtech before he talked to mathews. My first BT bow was the pat 02 model. Then he got in a BLK and I fell in love. Then this new line comes out. And I'm sorry but everyone has to admit that when first noticed that the liberty and justice looked like a mathews with those big damn wheels. I'm sorry but I just could'nt get over the feeling of I was shooting a mathews again i'm sorry for the swear word. Me personally do not like the big wheels. but like I said it was smooth as hell. and had a very solid wall. But the pat was so damn sweet , and I feel that the pat will be their best seller again. The new strings are first class all the way.IMO their are twice the strings that they were using(WINNERS CIRCLE). Hell every customer that has shot the PAT that he has had shot only once or twice and bought one. But the main thing that i'm mad about is that they discontinued the TB BLK. Now the closesest thing they have is the PRO40 TB. no comparsion to the TB BLK.,speed wise. And I'm not the only one that has noticed the hand shock in the Justice. It was very, very slight.

BT! thank's for your view's, we do all appreciate them. I'm trying to make up my mind on the Liberty or the 04 Patriot but since my dealership's line up hasn't come in as of yet I haven't been able to see or handle either of these bow's .This is why I love to come to this site and gather what information That I might need when they do come in .At the least I'll have an idea what to look for when the decision time come's .

Thank's again BTpatriot02

Thanks nubo. Al I can tell you further is that the PAT ia about 8 to 10 fps faster than the LIBERTY. BUt if you like the lib. you can opt. for the 80# limbs to make up for the fps issue. We also shot a 300 grain and a 350 grain arrow thru both of them and their is no diff in the string twang. Thats nice w/ these new model you can actually lighten up your arrows a little and getaway with it.but you might feel something diff. than I. but when he orders over 15 of the Pats. and all of them is already sold. thats saying something about the new PAT.!!!
