JTC,
Nope, did the hoyt thing already. Although I did shoot a few Tec bows when I started looking. Liked the HavocTec pretty well.
I hunt all over the state, the place I get to the most is Marine on the St. Croix. I have permission for some private land there. Saw lots of deer and turkeys. Also hunt up north near Lake of the Woods, Belle Plain area, around the cities some.

How do you like your new toy?
Matt/PA has got me convinced that the patriot should be on my short list for 2003, my wife is making me wait until then to get a new bow(327 days to go).

RE: Just got the call.........
Sorry to all who are waiting to hear, I'm sorry it took so long to reply. I couldn't get connected from home last night.
I set the bow up with a NAP Quicktune 3000 rest and a Cobra Easy Slide sight. Set the centershot on the rest. Checked it for draw length, it was right on for me at 29". Set the draw weight at 67 lbs, which is where I wanted to shoot this bow. Checked the timing marks on the cam, perfectly centered. I shot a few arrows (27.5 inch CX300's at 340 grains) through the paper in the tuning booth, got a slightly left tear, which I left in at this point until the string and cables are shot in (which I plan on doing today).
The first thing I noticed about this bow was how easy it was to point at full draw, very solid, even at 80% letoff. The first arrows through it gave me a strange impression of being a lot slower than I expected. After about a dozen shots, I shot it through the chronograph just to see if it was indeed slower than it should be. I was very wrong, The first arrow through was 307 fps and the second was 308 fps. This bow is so smooth shooting, so recoil free, so quiet, that it feels like a much slower bow. In Matt's words "It's like the cream on top of smooth". It does have a pretty aggressive draw force curve, but was not unruly by any means. If you are in the market for a new bow and are looking at BowTech as one of your choices, do yourself a favor and shoot the Patriot. You will not be disappointed. I think BowTech will sell a lot of them. This is my first attempt at a bow report and I know this isn't nearly the report that some of you out there could have put together. I will report more later after I finish the rest of the setup.
