Draw weight ????
ok guys I am getting a new bow either the Cybertech or the Patriot
now I currently have a 60lb draw weight
with the new bow would I be better of with a 50 to 60 or a 60 to 70
My current bow is a 95 model and a twin cam
are the new single cam bows easier to draw at higher poundage ??????????

RE: Draw weight ????
I would say the single cams tend to draw abit more harsh than a 2 cam bow. If your shooting 60# now and dont think your going to want to increase with time up to over say 65#, then I would stick with a 50-60# bow. If your going to try and slowly keep bumping up your draw weight as time goes on, then maybe you ought to go 70#.

RE: Draw weight ????
well the main reason I asked was ok 50 to 60 is good enough for deer and most game here in Texas but I am going back To Aussie in a couple of years to hunt the asian water buffalo
maybe I should have put that in in the first place
I found the Cybertec altho it was only a 50 to 60 and set on 60 easier than my current
and unfortunately I cant shoot the Patriot for about another 2 weeks the local bowtec dealer has not got one in stock yet

in that case i would defenatly opt for the 70lb limbs. just make sure if you turn the bolts out you turn them the same then crank them back down one turn at a time a week or so apart.

I would definetly stay with the 50-60. It may not be enough for buff, but cross that bridge when you come to it. I have shot compounds up to 100#, and I doubt that that 100# Quadraflex elephant killer was a less powerful bow than a pattriot 60 pounder. Fred Bear took his Elephant with a 70 or 75# recurve. I would guess you could get the same velo out of a Patriot at 60# as you can get out of the FB recurve, using the same arrows.
Anyway, two years or so is a long time as far as the bow buying tendancies of Technical forum members goes {}. A buff bow sounds like a fine project eventualy.
I am sure you know you will get better performance out of a bow cranked up to 60 than one wound down.
Those are just some ideas. This kind of thing is way personal.

Thanks for the imput Ossage
I have hunted the buff in Aussie before but I was using a 375 mag shoulder buster.
I would be going sooner except for a couple of reasons
firstly I have to what till my paper work with the ins is complete and secondly the friend who wants to come with me has to save up his pennies.
