But isn' t it amazing what the ' 03 used Hoyts are going for now that the ' 04s are out? Or the ' 03 Bowtechs?

Archery equipment is getting more similar to computer equipment every year- If it' s not the latest/greatest brand new model, the price falls considerably.

The downside is that those who like to buy the new toys when they come out ( ) get hit for the up-front price of having the new gear. But the upside is that there' s an incredible USED market for archery equipment where you can have jusssssst about the latest technology for a BIG price break.

At my shop I think the Razor & Viper are running $679 & the X/Ultras are running $729.

Black Frog is right about that. I just saw an ' 03 Ultratec Cam.5 go for $355 on ebay. I would have been interested, except that I have come to the decision that little is to be gained by selling my Bowtech and getting something else.

LOL, it couldn' t be any more true. I' ve been adding up my expenses on archery equipment this calendar year. I bought 2 new bows, new tree stand, camo, arrows, accessories, etc. Just hope my wife doesn' t see the receipts. [:' (] I did unload my Hoyt bow last week so I did recover some of my expense. I was happy to only lose $200 from what I paid.

I finally got out to my shop today to talk turkey and play around with the new Hoyts. I am really amazed some places are charging as much as 700 or more for these bows! The owner of my local shop said they did put a 35 price hike on them this year from last year, but thats it. His 03 Razortec was 600 even last year, and its 635 for the 04.

I have been looking at the Vipertec and he wants 600 even for it. This compared to 699 at a shop 30 miles away.

Thank goodness my shop is reasonable.

Hey Muzzyman wich shops did you check out in the area? I am looking at the new Hoyts also. The only two I can think of who sell Hoyts are The Bow Hunters Shop in Warriors mark and Clarence Archery. Which one did you find was the cheaper one?

I bought a hoyt this year in PA at acorn archery. They were $75 less for my bow than my local shops here in ohio. I paid $400 for the 03 xt2000 magnatec there. It is in new castle PA. I am planning on an upgrade this year, possibly the vipertec not sure yet. It will defently be another hoyt though.
