RE: What' s the New Hot Bow so far?
I like to look at the Martin calendars too....but I just cannot figure out where the bows are????
Kevin,
Come on now...I take offense to that statement. With a 31 inch draw length I am part of the knuckle-draggers club....just not the Cro-Magnon chapter.....
(same thought patterns as the knuckle-draggers )

SA & PAB-
Sorry guys, got carried away in the moment[&:]
I also like looking at the girls---but that still doesn' t offset the fact that it really isn' t in their best interest to focus on that as a way to promote our sport to everyone. Sorry, cannot buy into that.
My wife also just took a look when I showed her and rolled her eyes and said " oh, yeah, that will really make everyone want to bring their kids to the next shoot, NOT!" And, she is very easy going and things like that do not bother her anymore than they bother me normally, but it is the principle objective they are conveying that we must look at, not just the fact that they are going to make some money off of the guys who will hang them up in their shop or trophy room.
That' s it. Didn' t mean to offend anyone with my comments, but I do tend to stick up for our sports' integrity because I would like it to be there for future generations. Good shooting, Pinwheel 12

Pinwheel,
Are you referring to the ads or the calenders? The calenders are only available to those who ask for them. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. No children exposed, except from those families who don' t care. The ads are very tatsteful in my opinion. What is so offensive about the ads? I just don' t get it. Almost no skin showing. Just a beautiful woman holding the bow. Seriously, where' s the pornography? What was your wife offended by in the ad?

The whole principle of using sex to sell product in the Archery industry is what gets my goat here, and my wife thinks the same thing---- it simply taints a wholesome family sport. Like I said, I have no personal issue with looking at Lisa in the ads or even the calendar bimbos myself, but is this REALLY the way that we want to promote the sport of Archery? I remember back when that pic of the naked woman in the Bear ad came out in the 70' s, and that created a huge controversy also. No, these ads are not nude, granted, but they are still utilizing sex to sell products, and in a sport that is supposed to be FAMILY oriented with KIDS involved, I just don' t think THAT is tasteful in any way and that they could certainly think up something a little better than that if they tried. That' s it. As stated before, money ain' t everything, the true integrity of the sport is. Good shooting, Pinwheel 12

In all honesty, the very first time I saw the " Lisa" ad in a magazine, not being familiar with Martin archery at all, my first thought was " I guess they figure their bows aren' t good enough to get people to stop and check them out" . Swear to God.
And I' m as big a horn-dog as you' ll find anywhere

Anyway, you' ll find far more " sex" on almost every TV commercial out there. Families are hardly being exposed to something new here. In fact, I think Martin' s ads are one of the mildest uses of sex, I' ve seen in an ad that you could say sex what a part of. I hope they keep the ad campaign going. It makes reading my bow magazines more enjoyable.
