50lb draw, Bowtech VFT at 50 or 60lb limbs?
My new Bowtech Extreme VFT came into the dealer today. I ordered it with 50lb limbs since that is the max draw weight I ever shoot. When I tested an Extreme VFT off his rack a couple of weeks ago he dropped a 60lb model down to 50lbs. The draw was smooth and there was no jump or shock on the release. I test fired my new Extreme with 50lb limbs and the draw curve is harsher and there is definitely shock Funny thing, the 50lb limb bow shoots my 334gr arrows 7-8fps slower than the 60lb limbs turned down to 50lbs.
So what' s all this about bows shooting more ' efficiently' near their rated limb capacity?

Well there are so many things. In order to make fair comparisons. You' d have to weigh the draw weight on both bows. You' d have to measure draw length. You' d have to compare brace height. And you' d have to check the cam timing. Otherwise you' re comparing apples to oranges.

Sounds like your cam might be over-rotating a bit. I' d put in 5 or 6 twists in the string and try that. Putting twists in the string will " start" the cam out for you. If you feel a slight improvement, put in a few more while checking the speed to see if it' s coming up.
