I shoot a PSE Silverhawk. I have the weight set at 50lbs and a 29" draw. I shoot XX75 2413 arrows ( i know they are over spined for my bow ). I just purchased a stabilizer which took care of most of the recoil but not the noise. I dont have silencers on my string. When i let go it makes a Boi-oi-ing sound, it sounds similar to throwing a 2X4 on concrete (vibrating wood sound). It does not affect my grouping ( about an inch at 25 yards ) but it is very annoying. Any advice would be helpful. Also could you recommend a good arrow for me? Thank you

Put some limbsavers on it. Put some string silencers on it. And if you have a peep with rubber tubing........swap to a tru-peep or another style that doesn' t require rubber tubing !!
Make sure all of your screws are tight and you will probably be amazed at the difference. Good Luck !!

OK I just put silencers and limb savers on, not as bad but still loud. I do have a peep with the rubber tube though. Do you think this could be the problem? What if I turn my peak weight up? A buddy of mine just came over with a bow set at 80 lbs and he picked it up for $30 so its not top of the line by any means but his whispers compared to mine, could this be the draw weight?

Just remember there is a point where it will be as quiet as you can get it. The bows design has alot to do with it as well. Bows that have the swept back limbs such as Matthews or Bowtech tend to be quieter because of less limb travel and overall design. Traditional limbs such as your Silverhawk will be louder.

And yes .......the rubber peep tubing will cause noise. A lot IMO .....but plenty of other people think differently. It' s just a personal preference. But I do know for sure......switching to a tru-peep style from a tube style peep will pick you up about 7 fps and be quieter !

I took the peep with the rubber tubing off my bow years ago because it was making a slapping noise no matter how long the rubber was. The rubber was also breaking all the time. Do yourself a favor.....get another peep.
