tonite i finally had time to tinker with the mze. i took it off, put moleskin over all the places where the rest might contact the bow and also i put a piece of rubber between the rest and the bow where you screw it onto the bow. also put plumbers tape on the main screw. the result was a lot quieter, almost no noise but i am satisfied. it must have been the rest vibrating on the bow. anyway, thanks guys for all the input.
