Winners choice X-coat??
new stuff on my winners choice strings - a coating over the cable/string where it slides through the cable guard.
Any one have experience with it?
Seems like a great idea that makes a great string even better

I have the same thing on mine. I have only had it on my bow for about 2 months, but it seems like it will hold up. My last one was a zebra and my Muzzy slide put excess wear on the cable.

Nub, I' m not sure. I can tell you that I had Stone Mountain strings quite sometime before I ever had a WC string. I was getting Stone Mountain strings before Joey Vaughn took over the reins of the company. The first I heard of the X-coat was from the WC camp.
I am very impressed how the X-coat has held up. Chaulk another one up for technology headed in the right direction!

RE: Winners choice X-coat??
Its a clear coating, kind of like a searving, that they put on so the cable' s don' t wear as bad moving through the cable slide, and it DOES cut down on the amount of string that needs to be waxed.I have it on my strings(or cable) and have shot them all season and have no wear problems at all.And I do beleive that this was first used by Winners Choice, and in fact I think they have the patent(spl?) rights on the" X" coating.

It seems to be a nylon reinforced material that is not like a serving material.
It is wraped around the string very tight and (melted???) on. You can see the wraps but the material is flat and thin not round like serving.
I will be putting them on my Patriot this weekend so we will see

Rack-attack!
I have it on my Patriot SC 2003. X coat will help you to save cable, and with Bowtech it is help. At first it is a bit rough but after 300 shots it will smooth out. Also you will hear more noice at first few shots from the cable slide. It works, but to see big difference it will take time to judge it.
I wish Bowtech would use teflon slides it would not need X-coat at all.

The xcoat came stock on my kodiak with winnerschoice .
Personally iam not to impressed with the stuff, like vodek said initially there is a little noise with it, it does finally take a set and smooth out.
I just feel that, with a quality cable slide, you wouldn' t have any problems with strings without it.
It does work but, i don' t feel it is needed.
