Default Converting rest to dropaway

I read some while back that some of you were converting your T.M.Hunter style rest to a dropaway style. I can see how this was done, all but how you pull it up. I've tryed the tubing, and the string, method and can't get it to come up like it should. Did you put some type of arm or bracket on the rest for the tubing and/or string? Any suggestions other than buying a TT, disabled and on fixed income, will be greatly appreciated. Be safe.

Hi Derby,
Put one of the collars that the set screws go in on the shaft and tie your string or tubing to it. Might need to find a launcher rod that is longer than normal but I have heard they work real well.

Derby,I'm not familiar with the TM Hunter but what I did with my 3D Rover is that I took one of the set screws that hold the prongs in place(the inside one,I'm right handed)and placed a small electrical eyelet under the screw head.I attached my peep tubing over the eyelet ferrule and used the peep ferrule to attach to my cable.I have had absolutely no problems with this setup.I would be glad to help you further.nmaineron.

There are already drilled and tapped holes in the collar on both sides,if you take the screw off the outside collar and put it on the inside collar(opposite side of existing screw). You can now tie a string to this screw and serve it in,then serve the other end to the cable about an inch below the rest.

I just did this very thing to my 7 year old daughters bow and it works great.Had to do something to get vane clearance on those new 1214 arrows I bought her.

This actually works better than the original design.

Thanks for all the quick responses. You have helped an old crippled up biker, and bowhunter, a lot. Be safe.
