Kinetic Energy for this setup?
I' m curious if any would know what my kinetic energy would be for this setup:
2003 Hoyt Razortec
435 grain arrows w/broadhead
65 # Draw Weight
26.5 Draw Length
I don' t have a way to measure the speed of my arrows and just wondering if I have enough KE to use mechanical broadheads like Spitfires.

My razortec @ 28.5" draw shoots an arrow that heavy @ 280fps. So even if your string is pretty loaded up with stuff, you should still be pushing that arrow around 250fps. That would give you just over 60 # ke.
Even if your speed is 240fps.....you will still have 55.65# ke. Way more than enough to pass through a deer.

Big Country,
Are you sure about those #' s
Thats about 78lbs of KE out of 28-1/2" draw[]
And an approx IBO speed of about 330 fps.
I am not even close to that with my 29-1/2" 70lb Patriot.
I looked closely at the Razor - if those #' s are real - I bought the wrong bow....LOL

Rackattack!
Patriot' s speed should be the same or close to RazorTec. I can tell you my UltraTec is faster than Patriot 2003 with the same set up, but not that much.
My 2003 Patriot set 29' at 70 lb shoots 415 grain arrow at 276. I shoot D-loop and peep with no rubber tubing plus two cat wiskers.
ACC 360 at 430 grains flies 273 fps. Both set ups give me 70KE.
UT shoots with the same speed but set up at 68 lb NOT 70 lb like Patriot. It will be faster in about 3 fps than Patriot. This is with my set up. Any bow might be a little differnet.
Tell me how is your Trophy Taker set up on your Patriot. I have really hard time to get it right.

HMMMMMM, I am getting 270 ish with 445 grain arrows at 28.5 inch draw length from my Razortec!!!!!!
I ran Nebraskas numbers through the Archery Program and came up with mid 220' s at 26 1/2 inch draw. Someone' s numbers aren' t adding up!!!!!

RE: Kinetic Energy for this setup?
Rack, sorry I did not respond sooner. Been busy slinging arrows for a couple of days.
My #`s may have been a tad bit off. I am shooting my razortec at 69 lbs. with a 413 gr. arrow. It is going 289fps. I was just taking a quick guess as to how fast a 435gr. arrow would come out.
Another thing, I actually have my razortec maxed out on drawlength, which is 29" . The reason it is set there is because at the 29" setting, it is really only drawing 28 3/4" . I gave the mainstring a few twists and I am @ 28.5" amo.
My razortec is 3fps faster with my own strings on it too. 16 strands main and buss, using ultracam by brownell.
