Straight limb or recurve?need help
I just got two older hoyt bows, and since I dont have the $ for a new bow I have to use one of the ones I have. They both shot good and have about the same axle length. One is a hoyt spectra 70 # and the other is a hoyt ram hunter 80 # Just need some help which is the better bow.

Humm kinda curious what does the hoyt' s have to do with your topic on limbs?[&:]
I' m not familiar with older Hoyts myself. But if the 70 & 80 are the max poundages of the limbs. I' d start with the bow that is more closely related to the lb' s your drawing. That is of course if both bows are in good shape, and no advantage to either there. The other thought is which one feels more comfortable to you, and you seem to shoot the best.

The Spectra is the better bow of the two. At least, it' s the one I would choose. I can' t hardly believe they put 80 pound limbs on a Ram riser. I never thought it was that strong, and I didn' t at all like the limb pockets on that riser.
