Twisting the string to shorten the draw length
Need a little advice on a method of shortening my draw length. I shoot with a string loop and need to shorten it by 1/2 inch. I have heard of twisting the string to achieve this. Is this a reccomended way and can I get the needed amount to achieve the 1/2 inch. I shoot a 29 inch draw and do have a 28 inch module for my bow which I can put on and move the string to the longer peg on my cam to increase the length to 28 1/2 inches and adding the loop I would be at 29. I dont want to loose the speed I have by shortening the rotation of my cam with the 28 inch module. Will twisting the string solve my delema? Or am I better off sacrificing some speed?

RE: Twisting the string to shorten the draw length
Shortening your string 1/2" , will reduce your peak draw weight by a few pounds. If you have the ability to crank up the draw weight, you can conpensate for this. If you are already at the bow' s peak weight, then you will have to use a lighter arrow to keep the same speed. It will require approx. 25 to 30 twists on a single cam (depending on how many twists are already in the string), to reduce the length by 1/2" .
It would be easy enough to try twisting the string first, to see if you like the results. You can always install the other module for comparison if you don' t like it.
