One time I was tinkering with something or other on my bow, and I drew it back to full draw with an arrow on. I decided I needed to change something quick, so I let off, made the tweak, and redrew.
Well, when I shot I heard one heck of a bang and the string practically ripped some skin off my arm.
I hadn' t thought to make sure the nock was still fully on the string.
Needless to say, I had one heck of a welt on my arm for a while and I was a little jumpy shooting my bow for a while.
