I shoot about 63# and took a 17 yard or so shot with a Rage 2 blade this past saturday on a small one quartering away. I hit high and back of the rib cage and the arrow exited low and just behind the opposite shoulder. Clean pass thru. Sliced thru liver and lung. The deer didn't go too far, maybe 50 yards. There was a very spotty blood trail though, which surprised me.

On higher hits,it's common to not have as much blood excape chest cavity as the animal still bleeds out,but that blood is filling up chest cavity instead of excaping the body. On low hits, the blood is directly running out of the holes so it leaves a much better blood trail. Sometimes we blame the broadhead for not leaving good bloodtrails when I feel the hit loaction actually has more to do with it.
