I would personally be getting a little nervous shooting through the chronograph past 40 yards. I accidently hit one of these with a .300 Winchester once - just put the pieces in a 5 gallon bucket and came on home.

I was a little nervous before the first shot but trusted my shooting ability enough and forgot the chrono was even there for the next 3 shots. I have a chrono with a remote display too just in case I would hit the front it would only dent the heck out of it. (I hope) I also made sure to aim about as high as you can for a good reading.

My buddy was very afraid to shoot at 20 yds. But settled in well enough.

Yes, I had issues at first but then I settled in. My bow was shooting low that day. Bad time to be shooting over a chrono at 40yds.

I've wondered about downrange speedand I would have thought that the loss would be greater than 20 fps. I'd be interested to find outhow different types of fletchings effected downrange velocity also.
