Default I there a difference?

Does it do something different if you cut from the nock end?

I don't but would give it a though if the nocks didn't come installed. I figure they protect the ends from damage.

If you're asking about carbon arrows then the answer is "usually". If carbon arrows are not 100% straight the imperfections are usually at the ends. Cutting about 1 1/2" from the nock end and the rest from the point end can remove some of the imperfections, thus producing a straighter arrow.

I don't think you'll see results as well with aluminum arrows because you can straighten them to whatever tolerances you like. Besides, most aluminum arrows are pretty darn straight to begin with. he trick is keeping them that way. That's where an arrow straightener comes into play.

I cut all my arrows from both ends, most of the time it will turn your arrows into the next higher version of how straight they are.
