Default new string

how many shots do you all take to break in a new string, would 15-20 do it you think? Just to get it to settle enough to stop peep rotation as much as possible.

thanks!

It really depends on how well the string is made . Winners Choice you shoot about 20 - 25 shots and install your peep and twist the string till it faces you and you are good to go. It really just depends on how well manufactured the strings are , there really is no set answer. Sorry cannot give you a definite answer on this one.

If the string is top notch 30 to 40 shots or less should settle it in.

like the others said, depends on its construction and materials used...

my factory string never quit giving me headaches...crept a mile and drove me nuts...i didnt know enough at the time to figure it out...just kept retuning...the shops never offered to twist the cables or check the specs and see how far out of whack they were...after going there a couple times i quickly learned how to tune myself and quit going to the shop to tune...now i know more and it could have been semi fixed, though it would still creep more..

now, my 452x string made by gibblet, i had the peep and loop put on and it NEVER moved on me. going on a year and i havent had to move anything....never had to retune...never had an issue....love it.

sorry to jack the thread, but

if I press my bow and twist the strings and cables, will I need a few shots for it to settle?
