Hi, i am interested in switching to carbonfiber arrows from wooden. i am a couple month shooter, and i feel it is time to move on. i haven't gone into the shop yet, but i was curious as to how you put a broadhead onto the arrow. I thought that they screwed on, but i haven't actually seen it happen. Or do you buy the arrow with the broadhead already attached. this is no joke, i really am curious.

Aliminum and the internal component carbons have inserts glued inside the shaft that have internal threads that the broadheads screw into. That way you can change from target/field points to broadheads on the same arrow.

First off I would like to welcome you to the best site on the web. Your going to have a lot of questions I feel, so don’t be afraid to ask them by any means! The people on this site are always ready to help out. You’re going to love this sport!!!!
Could you give us your setup i.e. what type and kind of bow. All you can think of so these guys can give you more precise information as to what you should get.
You are right; the broadheads are screwed on the tips of arrows. They are used primarily for hunting and field/target tips are used for of course practicing or target shooting. They screw on as well.
It would be a good idea to find a local archery shop near you and get familiar with the sport. You can learn a lot from these guys too.
Your comment on switching from wood caught me off guard. Are you using a long bow or a recurve bow? Is it a compound?(axles on each limb) How did you acquire this setup? What do you know about it now? These all will help in deciding were to go from here.
