RE: Guys with STS or MeanV or similiar
The first bow that I set up with a MeanV on it, I left the leeches on for a long time... When I finally wore them out and took them off, I shot it a few times without them and couldn't tell much of a difference.
These days, as soon as I put the MeanV on, I take whatever silencers are on the string off.

My experience is basically the same as Greg's, I have an STS and I left my silencers on but they have worn off. It still is very quiet. Most likely you will not need them since the STS makes so much more of a difference than string silencer.

From what I can tell there is a tad more noise without the string leaches, but not much. Its kinds of a toss up you can leave them in and have a super quiet bow or take them out and gain a few fps while still having a quiet bow. Its your choice, just something you can play with.

I took mine off. I noticed that the bow made a higher pitched noise with them on and personally thought the bowis more quiet with a lower pitch sound.
One thing I found out is have someone else shoot the bow and you listen to what it sounds away from the bow. I thought my bow was louder than a bow with string whiskers until I had a friend shoot my bow for me.
You are probably hearing the loudest noise from the bow being behind the bow.
