I am going to try a Mathews LX this year, and although I have alot of accesories to start with, I would like some advice on finishing out my set-up. This is what I have to start with. Mathews LX, 29 inch draw(on order), string loop,( gives me my normal 30 inch draw), fletcher tru-peep super hunter 3/16, leeches (new kevlar ones, stealth limb savers, 1 simms module for rear stabiizer, beman ics hunter 340 shafts, cut to 30 inches with 3, 4 inch vanes, 100 grain muzzy 3 blades. I will shoot between 65-68 pounds. I will most likely put a set of winners choice cables and a string on this bow. What I really would like advice on is a rest, sight, stabilizer and quiver for this bow. I would like a detachable quiver thst is easy to take on and off, but is quiet if I decide to leave it on while hunting with it. I know I have asked alot of questions, but would like suggestions so I can start getting things bought up for when I get my bow. Thanks everyone, Bhunter32.

If this is strictly a hunting bow...
Sight...Impact Archery Cosmic. You'd think it was plugged in.
Quiver...Alpine soft-loc. This is a little heavy for my liking, but YOU decide how far up or down it rides on the bow saving your nocks from being lowered into the mud getting it up and down from a tree. It also pulls double duty as a great silencing unit.
Rest...Assuming you use a release...I think the LX has that goofy roller cable deal<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>? I've heard that Muzzy was coming out with a Zero Effect that worked with these but havn't seen one yet. If you find one...buy it at once! If not I'd look to the GKF lineup. The Power Drop looks interesting. I wouldn't use drop away with fingers though.
Stab....I personally think stabs are overrated. Maybe I'm just not good enough to tell the difference btw. the $80 and the $20, but I rarely can. I think it's more important to match weight than a particular brand...and do it after all the other accesories are on it.
As far as anything other than a hunting bow...I would not be comfortable suggesting anything cause I don't know much enough about it.
Good luck and keep us posted as to what you get!

Alpine definately fo the quiver. AS far as the rest, I have a Bodoodle Pro-lite which I really like but it looks like I'm getting a Trophy Taker to try. I use a Cobra Ascent sight and really like it. And I have the Doinker Chubby hunter and really like it also.

I'm shooting a Legacy with those same Beman ICS Hunter 340 arrows, and am wondering about your choice of arrows and 100-grain points. I'm betting the FOC is going to be pretty low on them. The previous posters are correct in that the Muzzy Zero Effect for the roller guard bows will be out soon. It was supposed to have been unveiled at the show (don't know, I didn't go) and should be available for shipment by the middle of Feb at the latest, according to the Muzzy rep I spoke to about two weeks ago.

According to the jacksons website, my arrows have an foc of 9.1%. I would like to be closer to 10 but do not want to shoot feathers(unless no other choice) or go to a heavier point. Any suggestions on another arrow that will get me close. I like the beman shafts though. I want to keep my total weight at around 400 grains if possible. Does anyone have an opinion on the stablizers made by stealth? I havn't heard much about any new simms products this year either. I will give the alpine quiver a look, is it around the same weight as the two piece mathews web quiver? Keep thr suggestions coming and you all can make up my mind for me(lol). Thanks everyone, Bhunter32.

I'm going to get an LX also. I am going to set it up with my current accessories from my Ultra2 (Tru-Peep SH,Impact Cosmic sight, Schaeffer Mat-1 rest, and Sims Enhancer 2000 stabilizer)just can't go wrong with those!! I am going to try the LX without any silencers. On the quiver this season I used a Catquiver II and really liked it... I strapped it to my climber if needed , but for fixed stands or stalking it is the most convenient system I have used !One question though is why are you going to put the WC strings and cables on now? I would probably do that also when they need replacement, just curious !

It seems likes the factory zebra strings don't stay in tune long after any extended shooting because of the string stretch they tend to have. I want to be like that guy who sells those roticary ovens on TV, set it and forget it.LOL.

I haven't had any problems with either of my bows. I have had an MQ-1 for 4 years and shot 20,000 + arrows through it.I marked the cam when it was originally set up and found very little change since then. I've had an Ultra 2 for 2 years and it's been fine. I haven't ever had any WC , but sounds like their about the best. But seems more like a replacement item on a Mathews to me !

I think you won't see any difference in a FOC of 9, vs 10. You might, of course, since you have to change something to get it, making changes to any of the items you mention will affect spine, so who knows how it could turn out, but basicaly FOC is irrelevant at hunting ranges.
