akbowhunter it sounds to me like that low 5.25" brace height is not giving you problems. It would seem like it could cause some issues with the clothing you would have to wear to survive very long in the climate you AK guys have to hunt in.

Bowhunter3D,
Thanks for the tip!!!......That's so stinkin' simple that I never even gave it a thought.
I wish I had known about that custom color thing tho!......Mine is yellow/red/yellow. I would have much rathered a green top pin over the yellow.

Thanks for the one tip I can use though! appreciate it........Geez why didn't I think of that?<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Great report Matt! All of you that already have a BowTech bow seem to really like them.
It's been along time since I've read
such a positive impression on a dual cam bow.
I also have a 30&quot; draw length, and currently shoot a
Mathews Conquest. Every now and then I still hit my arm
or clothing w/ the 7&quot; brace height. Have you had any
problems w/ the 6.8&quot; brace height? The difference is minimal.
Also, how often do you think a person will have to check and see if their bow is still at proper specs? Tiller, brace height, etc?
Do the Winner's Choice strings and cables help prolong
tuning? I'm still waiting for the local pro shop to get the
BowTech line in stock. After reading your report, I definitely
want to try the Pro 38 DC! I planned on ordering a single
cam model, depending on which one I liked the most. Now you have
my wheels turning. If I do like the 38, I guess I could add a few
twists to lengthen the brace height.

If you just need the longre brace height how about the Pro 40? Do they make it with the dual cam?. It is slightly slower, but at those speeds...

Sharpstick......been over 2 months since I wrote that report, and I've needed 1.....that's 1 twist in a cable since then.(I didn't even think I needed that, but the bowshop guru said it did so.......<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
I check everything to see how it's doing everytime I go to the shop.(That's once a week).....it just doesn't move, and yes I'd attribute that entirely to the WC string and cables.
Everything is still in time and shooting very very well.
I've had to tune this bow roughly 1,000,000 times less than my Mathews Ultra Max.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

I haven't had any Brace height concerns at all......6.8&quot; is pretty comfy for me, and I'm not worried about interference at all.
Like I said.....your old 2Cam bow this one isn't.
It's in my opinion far superior to BowTech's 2001 BKII with the same cams.......just as fast, higher brace height and a HECK of a lot less recoil and noise.

One thing to consider.....they aren't offering this one for 2002, so you will have to find one either left over or used, and they are hard to come by.
You might be in luck if you are serious tho......a friend (and fellow board member)is selling the exact bow as mine on E-Bay right now as he has serious back problems and can't shoot a 70#'r anymore.
I know it's killing him to sell it.

Or you can check out BowTech's Black Knight II for 2002......essentially this is the Pro38Dual Cam from last year but with some nice refinements......Nicer riser, smoother cams, a little more limb angle, but it's gonna cost considerably MORE than a 2001 Pro38 Dual Cam will.

Either way, if you want a 2 cam bow.......these are darn tough to beat.

Ossage,
I don't think that they did make a Pro40 Dual Cam......that would be a shooter.
The only Dual Cam offering for 2002 is the BKII......which like I said is basically a refined 2001 Pro38 Dual Cam.

The one I just know that they are gonna bring out next year is a Dual Cam Patriot......I can just FEEL it cause I'm gonna get the single cam this year.
That would be MY idea of a PERFECT hunting bow........34&quot; ATA, 7.25&quot; BH....and speeds near 340??!!! <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
