Default DC PAT update

Hey Folks,

Well I got my DC PAT Chronographed this weekend. 28 7/8” measured AMO draw (28” draw length modules). 7.75” brace (measured). 71 Lbs, 400 grain arrow. Loop, 2 leeches, and a tru-peep: 294 FPS consistently

As you can see I finally got around to measuring the draw length accurately, and it is running long, by almost an inch ( serves me right for guesstimating). My cams are advanced slightly according to the factory timing marks, so I would say it still would be ½ to ¾” long with cams properly timed & synched (according to the marks).

Despite that fact, the bow’s performance is still outstanding. My 2003 CyberTec shoots the same exact arrow at 29” AMO measured draw, same stuff on the string at 289 to 290 FPS. And that is with a 6& 5/8” brace.

After finally being able to shoot the bow some more I’ve come to some more conclusions & found a few more things.

1)The grip is a huge improvement from last year for sure, but it’s too low wristed for me. It’s causing me to be a bit inconsistent. Very low wrist grips are a problem for me, so this is not the bows fault, just a personal preference/need. YMMV.

2)There is not quite enough offset on the cable slide grooves. My cables are rubbing together slightly about 6-8 inches or so below the slide.

3)I’ve been keeping an eye out for cam lean, but no problems so far

This is going to be really tough for me this year. My bow budget is tapped out. To buy another bow, I have to sell one, and right now the 2K3 CyberTec and DC PAT are pretty much running neck and neck. Each has it’s perks, each has it’s drawbacks…I want a high quality lefty bow this year, so one of ‘em has to go.

We shall see….

Hey Jeff,

50 views and not one reply????

I thinks all those who are waiting are getting a little jeleous of all our new bow talk...LOL<img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Seems like you really like the DC Pat.

I think I found a GREAT hunting bow in the the single cam Pat. Really starting to like this one. Sure the extra 20fps of the dually would be nice, but I just couldn't handle her.

RA,

Absolutely, it's an awesome bow...but so is the 2K3 CyberTec (you can have the the 2K2 model)...I'm going to put them both through the paces for the next couple of weeks and see who comes up on top <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

And congrats on the SC PAT. It sounds like you are now comfy with what you have, that makes all the difference in the world!

Thanks for the update Jeff.
I put another 150 shots through mine over the week end and still no cam lean.
I dont have the rubbing that you have probably cause of the Muzzy cable slide.

Rack
Congrats on the single I shot my dually along side the single last week and found that I prefer the lower let off but we are all different and thats what makes things interesting.
But I have sold the single so I cant do anymore comparison tests.

My string has stretched a tad and probably 1/2 a twist will put it back.
I will be getting a complete retune job on it before the winter nationals.

After shooting the Patriot DC for a week or so now I totally forgot that it was a 65% letoff bow. I definitely did not recognize the difference at full draw which is somewhat surprising to me.

I didn't see this thread until so sorry for not replying sooner Jeff... I am in the same boat as you my friend....it is the Razortec or Patriot DC..and they are running..neck and neck...
