Anyone out their shooting the Nitro Stinger made by Aero Dynamics. It has a tappered shaft. I shot them last hunting season and had poor penetration results on deer and elk. I base this on the previous years shooting the Beaman ICS hunters. I shoot a Mathews Q2XL at 70# 29" draw. I set up a 1/2 inch piece of plywood and conducted a penetration test. at 30 yards the Nitro Stinger with a 100GR thunder head bearly penetrated the plywood. The Beaman ICS with a 100gr thunder head had a complete pass through. Has anyone had similar experiences?

Bill,I really think there is a problem somewhere.
I have shot the Stingers for 2 years and have had nothing but great results.I always keep my foc at or around 12%.I have to use 75 gr heads to do this but the penetration difference is slight between the 75 and 100's.
I can shoot thru a 2"styrofoam target with a 3/4" partical board behind it.I only shoot 60# at 29" draw.My ke is only 57 ft l/b.
I also have blown thru shoulders with these arrows.
Did you retune the bow to the stingers from the ICS hunters.
I also would like to say the arrows I had only weighed 361gr.
So to answer your question,no,I have not had similiar experiences.
I would say that the diameter of the ICS had something to do with the penetration in plywood, but I still think something else is going on.
