Making your bow faster
If this is in the wrong forum I apologize:
Just bought a Parker Buckhunter XP and am very happy with it. Put some string leaches and limsavers on and it is fairly quiet. I have two questions.
1-Are there products out there besides the obvious to quiet a bow even more? I am trying to avoid spending to much money just yet so am looking for the best bang for the buck (so to speak)
2-With everything on it including peapsite and limbsavers it shoots at 252fps through a crono. Is there anythign I can do to make it faster...like alighter arrow, or anything. Im just looking to squeeze as much speed out as possible, or am I maxed out at 252??

well depending on your draw weight and length you could get the lightest arrow for your setup but thats not always a good thing..... Turning up your poundage will almost increase your speed. Other than that you pretty much stuck, string leeches and peeps and anything on the string slows down your speed.

Nothing that you are going to notice that is for sure. Anything you do to it will not gain you enough speed that will make a percievable difference. The only way you will notice it is shooting through a chronograph.

to make it quiets go with a string supressor, but if you go with a ligher arrow you will loose KE= kenetic energy, it is also dangerous to go with a really light arrow, so really i dont recomend i would rather have KE or FPS any day. but if you want your bow to shoot faster that is the way to do it.

Along with string leeches, a STS system, cat whiskers, and limbsaver buttons; and heavy arrow will also quiet down your bow somewhat. So much for the speed thing, though. 252 fps is plenty adequate for hunting. My bows are shooting in the upper 250's with medium weight hunting arrows. No issues there - at least none that more speed will solve. The main advantage of speed is for 3D shooting.
