<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote<font size=1 face='Verdana, Arial, Helvetica' id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>I talked to BowTech. The cam is designed to lean at rest. They should be straight at full draw. <hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face='Verdana, Arial, Helvetica' size=2 id=quote>
Huh? How does that work? I am not trying to start any BowTech bash, it wouldn't matter what company made that statement, I would have to question that.
A cam rotating on an axle would be the most efficient rotating staight back and upon release going straight forward. Any type of side ways movement would be undesirable.
What am I missing?

Well, I don't know what the guy at BT said, but the cam should be straight...period..at rest, through the draw, and as it returns.
I find it odd that they said that (though I'm not disputing the fact someone there did).

That's how I understood what was told to me. Did I misunderstand? Jeff, you spoke of twisting the yokes to get the cables to run more through the center of the grooves on the cams on the BKII, correct? That is what I was told about. I guess I'll have to start twisting to see, if the bottom cam moves over. It doesn't appear as though the bottom cam is any closer than when I first got the bow.

RE: DC Patriot Problems
Both of the Pro38 dual cams I have had and still have one the cams do look to be leaning to the right(inside) side with the string coming off the cam to the left side of the bow and when I tried to straighten it on both bows the buss cable would ride way up on the sides of the draw module groove on the inside and it looked like the cam was leaning to left from the inside and to the right on the outside but if they were left leaning to right were the string comes off the cam the buss cables rode perfectly in the groove. Both bow looked almost exactly the same and did the same thing when tring to correct what lean it had so I put them back and had no problems. I never got all the lean out when tring to straighten them up but I bet if you did it could cause some serious problems as far as maybe hitting a limb.
I hope this make sense because I have read it and still get turned around on which way is which<img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle>

RE: DC Patriot Problems
I would guess this has a lot to do with the radical design of the cam. In order for the bow to store that much energy and have a very strong force draw curve the design lends to have a lot of tension on the string at brace. Coupled with the fact that the string in located off center between the limb forks, you might expect to see this on any radical two cam bow. I've seen it on my old Proline New Wave Speed Stick. The cams were large and when drawn you could see the leverage they had over the axle. At mid draw the cams were very straight, I guess that is where the tension on the string and the buss cables were equalized. I think this might be what some are seeing on the Duallys.

What I posted is basically correct, though maybe not worded clearly. The cams are set at full draw. I checked my cams more closely. The string runs through the center of the groove. If I twist the yoke and move the cam over, it will be off center. The result would be as I was told by BowTech, the string dropping into the groove, wearing the serving. There is no wear at any point on my string or cables, and the cam is no closer to the limb than when new. I have approximetely 400 shots through my Pat now.
