Default Arrow length question?

I have some Beman ICS hunters in a size 400 at 29.25'. I have been offered some arrows that are Beman ICS Camo Hunters size 400 at 28' long. I am shooting a Matthews SQ2 at 29 inch draw with about a 60-62 lb. draw. I'm shooting an overdraw so these arrows will still be long enough, but will the extra 1.25" make a big difference in where the new arrows hit in relation to the old ones? In other words could I hunt with both of these, or should I cut the old ones down to the same length as the new ones? Thanks.

Yep, johnl gave you the only possible answer. You've got to shoot them and find out for yourself. An inch difference will mean about a 5 pound difference in spine. Trying to predict whether they will shoot differently would be nothing but guesswork.

If I was guessing though, knowing Beman, I'd bet the 29.25" 400's are a bit weak in spine. I'd have to guess that 28" 400's would tune up and shoot better for you.

Thanks for the info. One last question...Would it be that big of a deal to cut the 29" to a 28" arrow?

i use a 4" grinder w/ a cut off wheel to cut my arrows to lengh........not hard at all............use a small candles to heat up the insert(whilerotating the arrow).
a field point screwed in 2 or 3 threads helps pulling out the insert.cut the arrow apply hot melt glue and re-insert.wipe off excess glue(after it dries)and your done.
