Carbon Arrows
Hey everyone!! I am new to the forum, so I appologize if this is covered somewhere else on the site....
I am in the process of buying my first, custom fit bow. Everything else I have used up to this point in my life has been a "hand me down" I have decided to purchase a Hoyt Vulcan, 28", 60#
My question is about which set of carbon arrows would be best for this bow? I am going to be shooting a release, and I have 100g Thunderheads on my old aluminum arrows at home (although, this is the least important...I'll switch to the most efficient if need be) I have read a lot about stiffness and FPS and penetration and, to be honest....I am overloaded!!!
Thanks in advance for any help anyone is willing to offer...whether it be suggestions or directions to further information....

RE: Carbon Arrows
Wow!!! Thanks for the quick response!!!
I plan on purchasing a drop down rest with my new bow. I should have included that in my original post. However, thanks for the suggestion!! Any "technical reasoning" as to why you shoot the Easton ST Epic?? I am having a hard time figuring out which arrow weight and length, etc would be best to get the maximum punch with this new set up....

RE: Carbon Arrows
I made a similar transition in the past few years and wound up shooting the Easton ST Excel arrows for awhile - with very good results. In the past few months, I have switched to the ST Axis for hunting - about the same weight as the Excel, but smaller diameter and a little straighter. Most of the folks I know who are big game hunting (out here that includes elk), are using arrows that have a total arrow weight of 400 to 450 grains. That seems to be a good compromise of speed/trajectory and penetration. Also, the2" Blazer veins have turned out to be very compatablewith the Whisker Biscuit rest.
