the 'tick' is a sound that happens once.its the limb cracking. the one i'm referring to is a vertical crack - hairline - starting about 1.5" from the limb bolt. you can kind of feel it at the same time you hear it. once it happens the first time, you'll never forget it. i've heard it too many times. just thinking about it gives me the cringe.

I had three break on me, when shot from the bow. Never had anything bad happen from them, but they were all yellow and after having three fail, I sent the rest back to Gold Tip and they replaced them no questions asked. They never answered my question as to weather or not they had a bad batch or what!

the color makes a difference too. ask any tool maker and they'll tell you that some colors weaken the plastic.

Quick update on the bow. I took it to the shop today and had it checked out, and it checked out just fine. One thing that scared me after my last post was that I looked it over again and noticed something I hadn't before.... one of the rubber string supressors (Drenalin) was missing. Geez, that string must have slammed home hard. I'm lucky on two counts: One - my bow wasn't harmed.(Thank God. One week 'til opening day)Two - all those other shots without one of the string supressors in place didn't do any damage. I can't believe I didn't notice it. That sorta makes me feel a little stupid, you know?[:@]

Hmmmm, I broke a white GT which was scary enough, checked the bow and couldn't find any damage, then 5 shots later the nightmare occured when the string broke and the bow exploded. 2 proshop owners in my area and the bow manufacturer stated that a broken nock on the release has the same impact as a dryfire, so check it out with those magnfiers and a fine tooth comb.
