i looked at the bitzenburger and see that this s the one i was looking at.
i also notice that they have left right helical and straight.
which one do i go for? what is more common on a compound bow?

I can't believe I'm the only one who seems to use the jig. Everytime this subject comes up I'm the only one whose suggested it. Guys do yourself a favor try the Cabelas jig. Its a all metal jig with 3 removable clamps, you can fletch up to 3 vanes at once. And best of all, its adjustable for several different degree of helicals! its not preset at one single degree. You can order it in left or right helical. I've owned others like the arizona ez fletch, but this is by far the best I ever used, and had it 3yrs now.

I agree with the Cabelas fletcher. It is a nice sturdy unit which makes fletching quick. I really like mine.
