Default AR 34 String Twang!

I have shot Hoyts for years but liked the looks and feel of Archery Research bows. I found this one in like new condition cheap so I am giving it a try.

I love this bow but it has a noise I just cant get rid of. I have string chubs, Limbsavers, a cable guard Bowjax, and dampners built into the riser. The string (Winners Choice) has string chubs, a peep without the rubber tubing, and a loop.It isn't a vibration or anything from the rest. It is the string.

This is the first set of chubs I have used so my question is will the leeches or some other accesory better hush my bow or are the chubs the best thing going. It isn't bad but I am hard core when it come to quiet!

Is your loop, a string loop or an aluminum Tru-nock or some variation. I had a Tru Nock on my AR31 and it was hitting my rest and making a twang. You'd be surprised how far that string travels.

What kind of rest are you using?

I have a rope loop and a WB rest. I changed the peep because I like a larger hole than the one that was on the bow and the noise went away. I would have never guessed it would be the peep from the sound it made.

I had they same problem with my AR 34. I tried everything. The only thing that really worked for me was to crank the limbs down. I was pulling 72 lbs. It was fast and quite!

I don't know but it looked like some kind ofWal-Mart junk. This bow was used and there were a few things on it.Just odd it sounded that way. I was sure it was something with the bow.
