Default Speed Question

I want to know how i can figure out how fast my bow shoots. Is there places i can go to find this out?

Or is there a way to do it on paper?

My setup is this:

Hoyt LazerTec (IBO 296 fps)
Vapor Trail strings and cables
MeanV CSS string stopper
Easton ST Epic 400 arrows with Onestringer wraps and Quicspin Speedhunter vanes (100 grain field tips + broadheads)

If theres anyway i can figure this out it would be great, if not then that is ok

I have used the Archery Hut calculator, and gotten some pretty optomistic figures. You need to know the actual draw weight of your bow, among other things. If you know someone who reloads, you might see if that person has one of those inexpensive Chrony chronographs. They measure arrow speed very well.

You give some good info about your setup, but it still isn't enough. What all is on the string and where is it located, exactly. And once you have all that figured out you need to have the "measured" draw length of the bow and the peak weight. What kind of string is on the bow?

Man there are so many variables and it's all guess work. Chrono the bow and "git-r-done". Then you'll know for sure.

3rd the chrono. A program will ball park you but always seems to be high.

Most bow shops can measure it with a cronograph.

Thanks for the info guys. I was just looking for some ballpark figures. The calculater said around 260. Just so you know, the draw weight on my bow is 60 and the legthe in 28.5 with the maximum length is 30.5. My string has cat whiskers, peep sight with tubing, and a kisser button.
