Pup
I am in the same situation as you with only one bow for both.
What I am going to do is have a 3d sight and a hunting sight and just change them out.
My reason for this is that for hunting I prefer a single pin that is moveable but for 3d I want multi pins that are fixed.
As to the arrows I dont know at this stage if I will be using the same ones for both.

pup, one thing about using the same bow for both is you'll know it inside & out, come hunting season. If you intend to use it for both I'd use the same arrows as well. I don't know your draw length or weight. If short draw or less weight is the case, then maybe a lighter arrow for 3D would be a good idea. In hunter class you must use fixed pins, so a good multi-pin sight might be a good choice. I'd set the bow up as I intended to hunt with it. Then see how that setup works for the other shooting you do. It'll all come down to what shoots best for you.

If you are going to shoot an adjustable for 3-D and fixed for hunting I would suggest a dovetail scope mount. I use a Sure-Loc with a scope for 3-D and a Sure-Loc 3 pin for hunting. With this you can shoot 2 different arrows and simply change the slide in the sight and you are good to go, just my opinion.
Their are also other dovtails that my be cheaper than Sure-Loc.
Good Luck

I too shoot the same bow for 3D and hunting. I use to shoot a naildriver and scope for 3d and a fiber optic pin sight for hunting. Now I've changed over to a Spot Hogg Sure Thing for 3d and hunting. .019 fiber optic pins, built-in level, round housing that lines up great with the peep, gang adjustments, finitely adjustable pins. I also shoot the same 10" hyd stab, Carter BK 3D release. The only thing I change is the rest and arrows. But a few years ago I shot 349 ACC's and they worked great for 3d and hunting just by adding the BH adapters. Now I really enjoy using the same bow, release, and sight. It makes it more enjoyable for me.

I would set up with one of the carbon arrows like the goldtip, pse,or gametracker arrows. You can set up one of these arrows upn light enough for the speed you need to shoot for 3-D and change the point wieght for hunting. As for a sight any 3 or 4 pin sight that your comforble with will work. most clubs has classes for that setup.

RE: hunting/target setup??
pup, usually I have a bow for each set-up. Two years ago I started shooting a Merlin Max and dicided to use it for both set-ups. Plus I had two kids in collage at the time and my funds where low to say the least. So for 3-D & indoor I shot in bowhunters class with fix pins(Copper John site). My set-up was 27"draw @60# using a Carbon Express, 3-D Select arrow w/75 gr.tip and 2 in.feathers. Total wt. was 310 gr.@ 280 FPS. In mid-Aug. I changed over to my hunting set-up. I kept the same arrow but added wt. tubes for mass wt.for increased momentum. I don't think my Kenetiic energy increased much at all. So for hunting I shot the same site but increased my draw wt to 64-65#. My arrow change ended up being 4"feathers,90 gr muzzys w/36gr wt.tubes. Total increased wt was 50-52 gr. at around 250 fps which didn't matter much anyhow cause I don't need the speed for hunting. I stayed within the spine of the arrow so the change over was simple and easy and I didn't have to adjust to the feel of a new or different bow. I did have to resite my CopperJohn for bin gap but no biggie. Now after the kids are out fo collage I'll go back to two bows but for now I works just fine. Good luck. JERRY

Pup,
If you want a sight you can use for both hunting and 3-D, go with a Spot-Hogg or HTM pin sight.
You don't want to interchange sights too often unless you get two that use the same mounting bracket like mentioned above.
You run the risk of wearing out or stripping the threads in your riser.
You can interchange the pins with a scope housing on the HTM. Although it's a little expensive to do so, it beats buying two complete sights.
