Default string wax

Just wondering what kind of stringwax everyone uses, and wanted to know if anyone has ever tried using vaseline or even chap stick. Seems like they both would work but would they hurt the string.

Why take the risk? Other than vaseline and chap stick are always around.
I use Bohning's SEAL-TITE. It's actually a "silicone lubricated bowstring wax". I bet a tube will last 10+ years. Pretty pricy though . . . $3 or $4!
