Last conversation they should be cutting the machette this week. I want to get a feel of the new cam and find out if it can be put on my 2000 Hornet. I guess I will have to let Rangeball know if it can. Curiosity will be eating him up. From what I was told the new cam is mainly to improve nock travel on the longer a to a bows and a little performance increase. I think Gary has been tempting me with the Machette ever since I told him I didn't really need a new bow since I can't seem to wear my Hornet out cause they built them too good.

Man... What a relief. I saw that thread title and instantly felt like a kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar, trying to figure out what I did to fire pinwheel up...

I've been secretly hoping Diamond would come out with some exciting new stuff, but I am a cheap er, guy, and like 8pt, it's gonna take alot to pry the hornet from my hands. Brother in Law is wanting a new bow... Hmmmm... Sell him my hornet, get a machete, he only shoots two days before season then for about a week or so as he get's disgusted with missed shots, I can borrow the hornet to do some comparison, keep it until just before bow season... this may work

Pinwheel, as we no longer have a diamond dealer close, I'm relying on you heavily to check them out at the show and let me know what's what. I'm also very curious to hear any insider info Tommy can deliver...

I wonder if it's too late to go sit on Santa's lap?

Pinwheel or Tommy, one other thing I would love for you to check out. Diamond is marketing a module system that allows you to change the force draw curve to that of a regular single cam with 80% let off, a 65% let off single cam, a hard dual cam or a "soft" energy wheel, while retaining 93% plus of the ibo fps rating. I would LOVE to know if these modules truly performed as advertised if you get a chance to try them out at the show or factory...

Hey Rangeball, If you would grow some arms I could send you the ST-E and ST-C modules I have to try out for yourself (29" draw). They do work like they say and when I calculated the speed drop the percentages matched almost exactly as stated. The letoff percentages with these two modules is around 73% to 75%. They are smooth but I guess I have gotten used and spoiled to the 80% letoff and short valley. The valley widens out with these modules as you can see on the graph in the front of the 2002 catalogue. I didn't try the 65% module. My nephew uses the ST-C module for 3D and likes it. He likes to be able to feel around in the valley to an extent to find the sweet spot I guess you could say but I am not that experienced. As far as I know they are the only company that has these module options by just changing modules.

Hey, my arms are 27.999"...

I currently am shooting the 65% let off module, and while it's not really a problem drawing the bow as is, I just found this a neat way to get the draw feel you want if it performed as advertised. I'm guessing the solid wall prevails in all of the modules? I sure hope so...

It cost me $6 for the 65% module... Any idea if that is what the going rate is for the "dual cam" and "energy wheel" modules? I assume they will fit my '00 saber cam...

They will fit the 2000 cam because that is what I have. Not sure about the price but they should be about the same I would think. Selection in stock may be low because they didn't have a 65% in my length last time I asked and don't know if they will be cutting any more soon since they are starting to cut the new cams for the 2003's. The wall didn't seem quite as solid as the 80% to me but still good. That was problay due to the wider valley. Now you are going to make me go change mine out to refresh my memory out of curiosity.

Sorry 'bout that, but, make sure you share your results...

I'd be interested in hearing how the draw curve of the st-e relates to the 65 or 80% standard module...

Rangeball-

C'mon, I'm not THAT bad, am I? Maybe you just always have your hand in the cookie jar and your conscience was bugging you? haha.[P]

8pt has given you great input, and I'll check into things at the show before I comment further on them for now. The newer design should be beneficial. Good shooting, Pinwheel 12
