Joe, I guess the type of carbon does make a differnce. I only have One Acc left, but it draws quiet, not as quiet as the cabelas carbon arrows, but still a bit less noise than the aluminums. Now I have not tried to clean up the aluminums yet, and I am going to wax some to see if that brings the noise down a bit. I honestly don't think the amount of noise the aluminums make is going to cost anyone a deer, but I always strive for a silent draw. With the Shootout you can put mole skin or teflon over the arms to make the draw very quiet. I still have a lot of toying around yet though. My problem really lays more in finding the perfect arrow. One that will get me 475 grns total weight with a 100 grn head and 4" vanes. One that draws quiet, won't cost an arm or and a leg, and that is straight and consistant.

The reason I like the whisker biscuit is for it's simplicity. I dont modify mine like some others do , so I consider it ready to go , out of the package. I did experiment with trimming the biscuit to see if I could get a substantial speed gain , which I did'nt. IMO , the biscuit is better than the shootout when dealing with tuning or fletching contact. The shootout is not a rest you can slap on your bow and not give fletching contact a second thought. The WB eliminates this problem by having all fletcchings contacting the same time with every shot.
5shot , I am curious why you like shooting vanes through the WB over feathers. I've noticed more of a speed loss with vanes. I shoot 4&quot; feathers and the only wear I get is on the very tip of the feathers (maybe 1/8&quot; of the tip shows wear).
As for quietness , I've noticed that unfinished carbons are noisiest , but a slight coat of string wax on the arrow helps. The best carbons (quietest) are those with the smooth finish. I use the Beman ICS hunters and their very quiet on the draw. As far as accuracy , I also purchased a NAP 2000 drop away this year and shot 3d for a couple months before I decided to go back to my old faithfull the WB a month before bow season. There was no difference in accuracy.
What I love best about the WB is it's dependability and simplicity! When I get to my stand I can do as they say in that infomercial.....set it and forget it!<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Bow, I got good accuracy with the WB and feathers, but didn't like the wear I was getting, about like you describe. I also figured that with feathers you need to waterproof them, and after watching how they passed through the bisquit, flattening down, I was not comfortable with it if I should be hunting in a good rain. I think feathers in the rain are enough problem without trying to squeeze them through the bristles of the WB. I have no real proof yet that the accuracy will suffer, but in mind it seems as it would, which would lower my confidence. Since vanes are simpler and already waterproof, I prefer them on the WB.
