Ibo speed - to real speed?
Hey guys, Just had a little ? I shoot a pse pro series triton, at 60lb draw weight. When i bought the bow it said it had speeds of 300fps, when at full draw wieght. At 60lbs im getting speeds of 232fps. When i dial it up to 70lbs, will it even come close to 300? I shoot a deluxe wisker biscuit rest with easton camo epic 400. thanx.

I agree w/ what Ausie-guy said, adding to that, that whisker biscuit will likely slow you down an extra 8-10fps according to what I've heard several others say they got when switching to or from a whisker biscuit. Most bows set-up to "really shoot," don't shoot anywhere near IBO (meaning within 10fps). Part of the reason for that is most of us don't have a 30" draw, myself included, even at 6' tall. The other reason is that we are usually shooting arrows well over IBO weight minimums. Most of us have weight on the string, and that slows things a bit also. That being said, for a hunting bow, you really don't need 300fps, 230-ish is fine as long as you know your limitations.

they need to do away with IBO speeds lol. what happened to the OTHER listing?? maybe amo? something but it was close to rigged up bows speeds.
i know i was once told that for an average hunting rig expect 40 fps to be lost..thats average. i happened to fall right about 45 lost..but go with heavier arrows, lighter draw, shorter draw, more weight on the string etc and youll be lower..232fps isnt terribly slow..nothing to loose sleep over...put that Epic where it needs to be..noone will ever know how slow it is goin
