Shaft size ??
Guys,
Looking for some help here or just trying to verify something. I went into a shop and bought some new arrows. The guys recommended, the Gold Tip Expedition Hunter (Black) 3555 - Shafts and said he shot the same arrows out of his bow.
My bow is Mathews Outback, 62# 29.5 draw and the arrows are cut to 28" (I shot a WB so they cut them down.) I shoot 100 grain fieldtips and BH.
When I looked at the back of the package and on goldtips website, it really appears I should be shooting the 5575.
Am I missing something or are these incorrect? I was going to call them as well but it is bugging me and I know they are not in until later.
Thanks for the help.

RE: Shaft size ??
According to the Gold tip site you will have an arrow that should be about 5.68 grains perpd. of draw weightor 352.1 grs total weight. For target shooting or 3D you should have a pretty fast arow speed since you are just above the recommended grs. per pound you would be legal at any shoots. Now for KE you will have I am not sure as you need to get bow speed for that. I shot the 5575 hunters w/ camo that are 10.2 grns per in. (total 415.5 grns) for my 64# draw. Weren't very fast but had KE of over 49 lbs.

AHHHH I've been through this before as well .I also had a shop recommend the 3555 GoldTip Pro's for my setup ,but after a little research and after spending 100.00 on shaft's,I found my shop's mistake .I'm not sure if this is just a rookie mistake or a shop trying to get rid of shaft's that haven't been selling ,which was the case in my experience .
What I found with the 3555 was serious inconsistancy and uncontrolability.Once I replaced it with the proper shaft ,grouping'sand handling improved by great margin.
www.goldtip.com has a spine and weight chart you can refer to when choosing new shaft's for your bow .
I also agree that 5575's are the shaft you need to be shooting .You may want to save this chart in your favourite's for future use .

Pops--a bow poundage of 62# and shaft length of 28", you should be using the 5575's or the 400's.
If the shaft was 'shorter', say 26.75" you would get away with it--but with your currentset up,you're way 'underspined' using the 3555's.
At shorter distances, 15 ~ 25 yards you would notreally notice the difference, but once you go beyond you'll have a hard time flying that arrow, (3555).
Why would a shop tech do something like this always baffles me .
