RE: MQ1 to Mathews Legacy
I've never shot the MQ1, but I have shot the Legacy and was pretty impressed with it.I shoot the Q2 now and I'm looking to see what they are coming out with this year and see what's what and I might just buy two of the Legacys.I know the MQ1 was their top bow just like the Q2,and now the Legacy and their all good just depends if you want or need a new one.Huntcaptain, we might have woke up the MATHEWS HATERS GROUP

RE: MQ1 to Mathews Legacy
Keep the mq1 , while your hear alot of positives on the legacy here if you gave me a choice between a new legacy and a 7 year old mq1 I'd take the mq1 in a heartbeat . The things I like about the mq1 are it accepts a muzzy rest has a good brace height [so does the legacy]and a smooth cam . The things I dislike about the legacy are the cam [no valey cam] and the new [to mathews] cabel system . I'll will say the legacy is the quietest bow ive shoot but I hated that cam/draw curve .

RE: MQ1 to Mathews Legacy
I agree. I think you'll find that Mathews have sold more MQ1's than any other model during it's history.(but of course they won't tell you that as they want to promote their new stuff) I also dislike the stationary roller guide, and have mentioned before how I feel it adversely affects the limbs by adding prestress. The Legacy is definately quieter due to the added angle of the limbs in it's parallel design, but the MQ1 is more accurate due to it's extra ATA length,(more stability) plus it's faster to boot, regardless of what the advertised IBO speed is. I've shot both and have run both thru a chrono, and can say I would be much more apt to go out and shoot a 3D with the MQ1. This makes a better "all around bow" than the Legacy IMO, so it all boils down to what you are looking for. The Legacy is best-suited for hunting only, and seems to have gained quite a following just as the Q2 did before it. If it weren't for the stationary roller guide and the string supressors that IMO could be an accident waiting to happen, I feel it would make a nice hunting bow. But then again, that configuration would be the Q2, wouldn't it? Hmmmm....... Just my own thoughts, Pinwheel 12

RE: MQ1 to Mathews Legacy
I've owned an MQ-1 for several years now, and I keep test-shooting all the new Mathews bows each year when they release them. To date, I haven't shot anything that makes me feel they've come out with something $500 better than the MQ-1. In fact, though I'm obviously no pro shooter, I haven't felt their new stuff was any better at all -- whether we were talking about plunking down an extra $500 or not.

I agree with Pinwheel on that point also it was much slower than advertised . My q2 is much faster .
