RE: KE reamains constant?(roughly)
If she wont let ya get a new one you might try loseing some of the stuff on the string ,if you have 2 nock points go to one ,if you have a rubber band peep go to a true peep ,change from cat wiskers to string leaches. You will get more speed and energy with a lighter string .

Currently the only thing on the string is
string leeches (2)
dacron loop
peep (no tube)
brass nock( to keep the loop in place)
Shooting a 375gr CX arrow 250fps
I'm not a speed freak, I just want to be able to do 25-30 yrds with 1 pin.
Is this a pipe dream?

Not a pipe dream with a new DCPat. Tell your wife that getting a new bow will; keep you out of the bars, keep you from watching football all the time and will all around make you feel like a new man which will make you feel like doing the dishes etc..... You WILL get that new bow<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>. I've also run tests on heavier vs. lighter weight arrows and there is only about 2 foot pounds difference in various arrows shot from the same bow. My Wife's BowTech Tec 29 shoots 18 fps faster that her Parker UL 31 at the same weight and draw length. One thing you can do is to put on a cable trap like what we used to do in the early 80's. This is what Mathews has done with the roller guide on the Legacy. I think I read where someone has reintroduced a product like the cable trap, I think it was Savage Archery? This item stops the cables from moving back on the guard rod and helps the limbs to store more energy. You may gain as much as 8 pounds or so peak weight so it may be harder on your limbs. There you go! Break your old bow<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>.
