Default Feathers with aluminums?

Do any of you have experience using feather vanes with aluminum arrows?

A feather vane???

I have used vanes in the past with my compound.

Formy longbows and recurves, I pretty much use aluminums with feathers exclusively. I think I have tried pretty much every shape out there and like a banana cut about the best. But I use parabolics for hunting as they are the quietest shape out there IMO.

What I meant to say was feather fletching.
I realize that feathers and vanes are two different creatures :-)
I am considering some aluminum arrows with feather "fletching".
The reason for this is I have a short draw and to get the right front of center balance, I really either need lighter fletching or heavier heads, which I don't want.
I've had a dozen ACCs that have lasted for several years but are almost gone, using just a couple a year on deer, but they have gotten too expensive.
I really want to go with aluminums over carbon.

Yes, moving to feathers should improve your FOC. You may also want to look into heavier inserts, or inserts that you can add weight to. Washers help, but you would have to use too many of them to notice anything significant.
