Default BowTech Mighty Might

I am contiplating my next hunting Bow. Are their any significant changes to the 2003 Mighty Might? I know the Patriot has a machined riser and I am assuming the Mighty Might is a forged riser so does this equate to a big difference in the performance. I know the Patriot is the top of the line but I don't like lugging around a heavy bow through the woods all day.

I was looking at the Hoyt RazorTec but I want to explore all options, and I have heard nothing but good about BowTech.

Any advice on the two would be much appreciated.

Hi!

Well I would not rule out the Patriot as well as some of the other “revised” models for 2K3. Many have been lightened by a half pound or more. This puts them much closer in mass weight to the Mighty Mite.

The only difference I know of for the 2K3 MM is the addition of the stainless steel stabilizer bushing.

It is my personal opinion that the forged then machined risers (like the MMM and T-29 as well as designs from other manufacturers such as Darton) have a bit more inherent shock and recoil to them. The “straight” machined risers seem to have less. Perhaps because they are more easily machined to take advantage of dissipating vibration?

I’ve owned two Mighty Mites. As everyone here knows I’m NOT a fan of the super short bows (appx 33” and less) in general, but the MM is smoking fast and tack driving accurate, and would probably be my first choice were I to go back to such models…either that or the revamped BlackHawk.

I suggest you get your hands on every bowtechmodel you can find, shoot them, and then make your choice.

UpNorth, I shoot a Mighty Mite. I also sold a 2002 Patriot (2003 dual cam on order) and still have a P38 dual cam. The MM is a great shooter, and easy to carry all day. When metal is forged, it aligns the grain in the metal. This tends to stiffen it, making it more brittle. Not anything to worry about. It probably is what makes it less able to absorb vibration. Properly set up, a MM is very quiet and easy shooting. People that have shot mine are amazed at how quieet it is, given the speed. I think you'll be well pleased with one. But, as Jeff said, the new Pat will be close in weight, just not price.

Black Frog, please look at the Pat DC. Jeff will feel so fulfilled, if you do.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> Please don't let him down. He gets so pouty when that happens, and his posts become Monty Pythonish.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition!

Our chief weapon is surprise...

surprise and fear...

fear and surprise....

Our two weapons are fear and surprise...

and ruthless efficiency....

Our three weapons are fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency...

and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope....

Our four...no...

Amongst our weapons....

Amongst our weaponry...are such elements as fear, surprise....

I'll come in again.
