I didn't make it as clear in my post, but I think it's a little of both.
Longer range groups are significantly affected by FOC..look at how anal the 70Meter guys are about nibb weight and FOC?
And while I agree Bob ragsdale is a very knowledgable (if cantankerous & opinionated to the point of being annoying) his son also won most of those records shooting at 20 yards or so where FOC doesn't make as much of a difference as it does at 30 plus...
Drag is also very important at longer ranges.
