Default 500's or 400's

i am shootin a browning bow @ 50 lbs At 23 in.and i was wondering if i cut the arrows to like 24 inches should i switch to the 500 carbon excell arows by easton or the 400's which im shooting rite now i was told by my shop that if i cut the 400s to like 24 inches that it would make my arrow stiffer but it wouldnt change the flight just the penetreation of the arrow will increase.is that true?and i was also told that the 500's would do beter but if i stay with the 400's it will make very little difference?also i am shooting with a whisker biscuit and i wanted to know what do ya'll reccomend the length of the vanes that i should use iwas planning to use 4inch blazers but i would like to hear yalls opinions!thanks

500's at that length would be perfect.

You didn't say with what tip weight so I figured it with 100 grn tips.

Both are extremely stiff at that length so it really doesn't matter which you use. You should be using a .580-600 spine for that set up and the excel's are .500. I am assuming you are talking about easton excel arrows?

According to my software you should cut the 500's to 27 inches. The 400's would need to be 34 inches long to spine right!

They might shoot ok with field points that stiff but I wouldn't be surprised if you had problems getting fixed blades to tune well.

OnTarget2 software.

http://www.pinwheelsoftware.com/

You can download a trial version if you want.

The Archery Program is another good one (TAP)
