Peep , or no peep ?
To make a long , boring story short - my bow currently has no peep on it . I was thinking that if you had the same anchor point all the time then you wouldn't need a peep . What do you guys and gals think ? It seems to me that if I continue to put my right thumb-nail on the right side of my lip (with a release ) , then my eye becomes my rear site . Any info would be great ,, I'll try this idea as soon as possible . Thanks .

RE: Peep , or no peep ?
Peeps are completely unneccessary. However, beginners will shoot much better at first, with a peep. To become a good shooter without a peep, requires very consistant and solid anchors. The corner of your lip is not one of them. Your lip is soft and moves easily. Movement is what you have to eliminate. Anchor on hard things, like a knuckle on your cheekbone/chin or a fingernail on a tooth if you're a fingers shooter. To shoot consistanly only requires that you draw to the same exact point each time. A kisser can help, but once again, it won't work the best because your lips are a soft anchor.

RE: Peep , or no peep ?
dogslayer,
I think you are absolutely right. Although I use a peep I have practiced without one with very good results. Just ain't got the balls to hunt without it. The whole idea of a peep or a "No-Peep" is to assure that your anchor is consistent. If your anchor is, indeed, very consistent then there really is no need of more gadgets for hunting type distances.
Now for target that may be a different story. You start getting past 40 yards or so and it takes a very consistent anchor to get those small groups.
