Default scale question

One of the last items I'm needing for my new archery room is a nice scale to measure my bow's poundage... I've looked at the options in both Bass Pro's andCabela's Archery Specialists catalogs; for some reason, I'm just not seeing what I think I'd like.

Someone suggested that a company called Coffey (sp?) makes a nice digital one... Anyone had any experience with one?

What's your personal favorite, and why?

Thanks for the feedback.

Tough to beat a good Hanson spring scale. They are relatively cheap and used ones can be easily found. There's a model that goes to 100 lbs which is very good for measuring bow draw weights and another that goes to 300 that is very good for weighing your deer.

That's what I use. The 300 one. 40-50 bucks. Have used the hand held one and it wasn't accurate.

Greg,

Matt and I bothhaveone of the scales from Coffey andthey work great.

I like the fact that it hastwo different settings.

The first is the normal setting which is similar to that of a spring scale where you can read you're peak and holding weight.

It also has an instant setting where you can draw the bow withouthaving tostretch your neckto read thescreen. You justdraw the bow, go hang it up,come back to the scale and read the digital indicator as it holds the peak weight reading for 3 mins or so.

It also measures to the hundreth and ithas an automatic shut off to save your batteries (which are included with the scale).

Greg if you don't have the laser and levels for tuning a bow, I highly recommending adding them to your list as well....

Thanks Pat... that's exactly the info I was looking for.

Rob, trying to break me, huh? [8D]I've still got to get a couple more dozen arrows, an arrow saw, a bow vise, I need to call Pete at TrueFlight Feathers and get a couple more hundred barred feathers coming my way...

I bet I could think for a couple more minutes and come up with a list twice as long...
And now you're suggesting more stuff?

I have the Coffey Digital scale and it works good. The holding weight is a bit tricky but it is the best scale for the money. I am thinking of spending the extra money and getting the Easton hand held digital. Straight forward and even easier to get both readouts at the sametime. But always a catch, $140+ for the Easton.
