What Matt said! I had a pro38 dual cam also and yes the draw force curve does rub people different I for one liked it. As far as the short valley goes yes the Bk duals on my 2001 pro38 did have a small valley but IMO is makes you a better shooter by making you stay on your toes and keep your consentration(sp),by the way I shot the pro38 dually better than any bow I have picked up but my bad back wouldn't let shoot 70lbs anymore so I sold it man I should have bought 60lb limbs for it.
I had my Patriot set on 80% let-off with a large valley and my groups would go from tight to wide all the time and a keep catching myself creeping forward for the shoot, so I got an inch longer mod and set to 65% letoff with a short valley and man what a difference.
Matt: When you get your Patriot DC I want to see a report so I can lick my chops and slobber like a rabid dog because I problaly won't order mine until march when the tax man pays me?

Looking at the Bowtech website I did'nt see a listing for the PRO 38 Dual cam? If the bow has the speed Matt stated I'm gonna look hard at that one.I like the stability of a longer bow. When will the 03's be out?I think I'm gonna get an early start next year and try some 3D.My oldest boy is salavating over my Mathews as we speak.I told him I'd cut him a good deal on it

Caj,
The Pro38 dual cam was an option in 2001, that you could still get in 2002 if you asked.......they dropped the Pro38 DC in 2002 because it had almost identical specs to the 2002 BKII high brace.
No need for 2 bows that similar....

If the sound of that bow is what you are looking for then the 2003 Pro40 dual cam is what you should look at......(Its really 38" due to the more parallel limb angle and higher brace) Same speed as my 2001 Pro38 Dual cam but it is lighter in mass weight, with a half inch HIGHER brace height combined with the limb angle and new cams it should be one SWEET shooting bow!
This is the bow I will be shooting for 3D in 2003.....w/ 60# limbs.
I think BowTech is getting ready to release some more info shortly as well as pics? but I'm not sure......I do know that the new models won't start shipping until after New Years.

So the PRO 40 Dual cam is about 330 IBO with a 7 3/8" brace height? Sounds right up my alley, not much slower than the patriot but a little longer.Do they list an AMO speed for this bow?Just curious.I need to find a dealer in my area so I can go check em out.I might even ask Santa Clause for an early Chritmass present

Caj,
330 IBO is probably a bit on the conservative side.......Most Of the BowTechs I've shot shoot somehwhere in the middle to high end of that speed range. My Pro38 DC listed at 333-339, and with a string loop it shot 336. Bare string should have put it right at 339 or so.
I'd expect more like 335.......At IBO specs 30"/70# you could fairly easily get 325+ with a hunting set-up of a string loop, Tru-peep, and Leeches. And even with your 28" draw length expect 305-310ish if you want to shoot 5grs/lb. With that brace height?.......

Not sure what AMO speed they list for these bows.....I haven't seen anything yet.

Chances are a 60# Pro40 dual will max out at 61-62#, My Pro38 DC was shooting 299fps w/ a 372gr arrow at 62# w/ a peep and loop........you want 250fps range at 375-400grs?
At 62#/28" a PRo40 Dual Cam should give you somewhere in the neighborhood of 275+/- w/ a 375gr arrow or 260+/- w/ a 400gr arrow. And that's with a peep and loop, you probably won't even need leeches or whiskers as mine was plenty quiet without them.

Sounds like its right up your alley.

STOOOPPPPPPPPP IT!No more,I can't take it.AAGGGGHHHHHH!Damn speed bug keeps trying to bite me.Seriously though,It all sounds too good to be true.I've been having a hard time justifying $750 for a new bow. That's why I've kept the old Ma.... oops, almost said the M word.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>If that bow will slap arrows at 30 yds, well is that too much too ask for?<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Welp, looks like all is well under control here... <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

I'd just like to add that my 2K2 BKII OP2 (yikes..say that three times fast) with 61 Lb draw weight, a 28&quot; module and grip off (AMO draw 28.75&quot; and brace of 6.75&quot 313 grain arrow (8 grains over IBO) clocked 314 FPS with a tie -in nock, 2 leeches (at just about the farthest points possible) and a fletcher tru-peep. With a string loop, the speed dropped to 311.

Do the math...that's some serious KE for a 61 LB bow. With the grip on AMO draw length was 28.3&quot; and brace was 6.3 inches.

W/ the 29&quot; mods it was in the high 320's with the tie nock set-up.

Barring the speed (and I often wonder if people think i'm a total speed freak, cause I'm not...I'm an accuracy freak first, but If I don't have to sacrifice accuracy and can get those speeds, it's a no brainer AFAIC..but I digress), the bow is very shootable at that speed and draw length...It also was not noisier than the majority of onecams I have owned at those same specs (limbsavers and a good stabilizer are a given on ANY of my bows regardless of cam design, so that is how my comparisons are made). With a 405 grain arrow it was shooting just under 280 FPS.

Can't wait for my DC PAT...same speeds..another 1.5&quot; of brace...WOOHOO!
