RE: Ratchet Straps for treestands
I used them on one of my older Gorilla tree stands. Didnt like theirs(they may of changed there buckle system now). I use a combination of two, in case one breaks. They are just the kind you work the handle back and forth to tighten. You have to click a couple of switches to realease it. You know the type they are very common.

I'm not much on API stands, but they do produce a ratchet strap that is heavy duty and easy to tighten. It has a large handle to grab allow me at least to get better leverage to tighten with. I use additional straps on all my stands. Brand new or old. I just feel better hunting them. Good luck.

we get a couple long ratchet straps with every bike the factory send the dealership so I have an endless supply.
They say Harley-Davidson or Buell on them and are white but the deer don't seem to mind.
I use an extra strap on all of our 13 stands.

I get mine custom made here:-
http://www.granatindustries.com/
Howard owns the company and will make whatever your choice.
I use the 1" webbing with the 1500 # ratchet and I use two extra straps to a stand. Works great!!!

Thanks for all the responses. I'll probably get some of those ratchet straps made by API. How do you hang your stand with the ratchet straps? When you wrap it around the tree, where do you hook it on to your hang-on treestand
Thanks
