MERLIN

RE: MERLIN
I have a Merlin XS Alpha cam.
This bow draws and shoots super sweet, and is a tack driver for accuracy.
The alpha cam is super smooth with average speeds.
But if you get the viper cam, it is right up there with the fastest bows IMHO.
If you get to shoot one, i think you will be bringing it home with you.

RE: MERLIN
Great bows, more and more are figuring this out too this year. The Alpha bows are super smooth, and the Vipers are as fast as they come--how about this for speed--
Model XS Viper, 33" ATA 7" brace, 59lbs, 28.5" AMO drawlength, 300g arrow.
309-311fps with string dampeners, loop, etc, out of the box!
Now figure that at 30" and 70lbs!
And, this is the smoothest 'aggressive cam' you will likely ever shoot. If you really like smooooooth, the Alpha cam fits the bill. Something for everyone.

If you get a chance, try one. Likebbahunter says, you will likely buy it, so be ready....

RE: MERLIN
you have to be careful and seal the grip. there's something in it that leaks onto your hand and turns you into and arse. there seems to be about 10% of merlin shooters that are immune to its effects, but better safe than sorry.

RE: MERLIN
Saw the new 2006 Merlins at NFAA indoor shootand, jmo, they are the most outstanding of all 2006 bows.
Their new 12 layer laminate limbs are especially awesome.
Right up there with Barnsdale for the top spot.
I love their new silver color
The colored inserts look much better in person than in pics.
If I didn't already shoot an Accu-Riser II, I would have to have an XT. [8D]
Here is one of my favorite pics I saved from AT of a guy shooting a silver XT.
