RE: Gaining better accuracy by adjusting bow arm angle?
It's been so long since I quit using sights that I don't remember how I used to do it. [&:]
Watch the guys who win tournaments more often than not.Very different stances.Bow arms at all different angles. A wide difference in how much bend at the elbow. The only real similarity between them is their shoulders are always square and pointed at the target.
If you want to increase your accuracy, let your bow arm remain in a natural and comfortable position. Aim with your shoulders. It's another way of telling you to keep that "T" form and bend at the waist, just easier to remember. Aim with your shoulders.

I think MilitaryDotMaster has OCD.
I guess if you enjoy all the techinal suff then great for you. Me personally I just enjoy shooting. The more thought I put into it, the less I enjoy it. I just try to work on my consistency and everything else falls into place.

Core Archery by Larry Wise. It'll tell you everything you need to know about proper form.
Sure, you see a few people win tournaments with some form that goes against the normal grain, but for the most part good, solid, basic form is the way to go.
Oryou can do whatever form you like, just do it the SAME way every time. Good, solid, basic form helps you do it the same way every time.

Trying to lower or raise your bow arm is putting to many muscles into play. From my experience the less muscle you are having to use the more accurate you will shoot, but in archery what works for me doesn't work for everybody we are all built different.

If you want to get all your "axises'[8D] on your equipment squared away thats fine, but don't think too much. Too much thinking will and can lead to target panic. You don't EVER want to acquire target panic.........its not fun and not easy to overcome.

Coug's got a good point... Back in the day, I won probably 30 or 40 tennis tournaments in several different states and taught at college tennis camps.
I would make sure everything I could control was in perfect working order, fine-tuned to the best of my ability... but when it came time to "perform," I just walked out onto the court and did it -- without any thinking, other than strategy.
Of course, I put in countless thousands of hours working on technique in practice -- and maybe that's what you're referring to. But game day is time to let everything flow naturally.
